A brief reflection for the first day of fall

It is hard to believe that I have already been home from Spain for over three months now. I remember my former cross-country coach telling me that life picks up speed as you age, and this reminder has certainly become more apparent than ever before with the rapid passing of this year. Despite the seemingly increasing pace by which the days begin and thereafter conclude, I hope to keep my recent experiences in the present and thus prevent them from ever escaping me. In retrospect, my time in Europe was quite possibly the best experience of my life. As the prior entries of this blog document, there were both highs and a series of lows, but collectively I could not have envisioned a better opportunity. As most people who have underwent some time in another country will tell you, I believe I learned a considerable amount about myself, and what I hope to achieve in life. In fact, the minimal number of classes and four day weekends gave me plenty of time to just think, something that is so important yet often forgotten amid the cluttered schedules that plague our days from time to time. In any case, I have yet to ponder what the next few months will bring. For now, I am happy to be back in the company of my family and back into the routine of a student in an American University. Nonetheless, the desire to take off again is still there, which may or may not become my pursuit come the arrival of the spring. Best wishes to all for a pleasant fall season:)
